Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could allow a local attacker to
escalate privileges.
## 3\. TECHNICAL DETAILS
### 3.1 AFFECTED PRODUCTS
The following versions of SafeNet Sentinel LDK License Manager, are affected:
* SafeNet Sentinel LDK License Manager, all versions prior to 7.101(only Microsoft Windows versions are affected)
### 3.2 VULNERABILITY OVERVIEW
#### 3.2.1 [IMPROPER LINK RESOLUTION BEFORE FILE ACCESS ('LINK FOLLOWING')
CWE-59](https://cwe.mitre.org/data/definitions/59.html)
The affected product is vulnerable when configured as a service. This
vulnerability may allow an attacker with local access to create, write, and/or
delete files in system folder using symbolic links, leading to a privilege
escalation. This vulnerability could also be used by an attacker to execute a
malicious DLL, which could impact the integrity and availability of the
system.

has been assigned to this vulnerability. A CVSS v3 base score of 7.3 has been
calculated; the CVSS vector string is

Ryan Wincey of Blizzard Entertainment Red team reported this vulnerability to
Thales.
